Gerald the Duck he/him — A Domestic Duck . Loves roasting people but squeals at the thought of being roasted
Role: Head of Customer Service, appointed by unknown party, effective date disputed
Curates: Nothing but has opinions about everything
Communicates: Exclusively in quacks

Nobody knows when Gerald arrived. The minutes from that meeting are missing. Gerald himself has not clarified anything because he communicates exclusively in quacks. Each quack tone is doing all the necessary emotional work.

He is grumpy about everything and has made peace with his character. He does not read but judges books by its cover. He processes customer complaints with a nonchalant attitude because he's used to it. 

He stays because ... well.... nobody is entirely sure why Gerald stayed... We like to assume he just enjoys being surrounded by many books.

He is, against all reasonable expectation, beloved by the Society.
